FERNANDA CARVALHO

Fernanda has been a dedicated practitioner of Ashtanga Yoga for the past six years. She is a long-time student and assistant of Lucas Carvalho, and has deepened her practice through two trips to Mysore, India — the birthplace of Ashtanga Yoga — where she practiced under the guidance of Sharath Jois for 5 months.

Throughout her journey, Fernanda has studied with renowned teachers such as Luke Jordan, Mathew Vollmer and Lucia Andrade, and has also assisted Wade Oakley. Her teaching is rooted in the traditional method, and she approaches the practice as a powerful tool for self-inquiry and personal transformation.

ASSISTANTS

INGRID KEPPLER

Ingrid began her yoga journey in 2010 while living in New Zealand, where she experienced yoga’s deep impact on personal growth. After moving to Australia, she explored vinyasa and soon completed her teacher training in Bali in 2012.

Her path naturally led her back to Ashtanga—a practice she’s grown more devoted to with time. On the Sunshine Coast, she trained with Olivier David and later with Irantzu Rekalde, who invited her to assist and deepen her connection to teaching.

Today, Ashtanga continues to ground and energise Ingrid, supporting her work as a massage therapist and Reiki practitioner. She believes a consistent self-practice is the heart of being able to truly support others.

MARIA FERNANDA BENITEZ

Maria began practicing Ashtanga in 2020 under the guidance of Loreto Cortés and Daniela Gómez in Chile. After moving to Australia in 2022, she kept a devoted self-practice, staying true to what she had learned. Seeking to deepen her spiritual growth, she traveled 3 months in India, where she completed her teacher training in Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga.

Back in Australia, she began training with Olivier David, and soon after, her journey led her to Irantzu Rekalde with whom she still practices and assists to this day.

She feels that approaching the practice with humility and honesty transforms it into a steady anchor through life.
